The operation

You have at your disposal two third of the plantation of our oak trees. After having searched, selected, analyzed the lands, we have planted oak trees which have been mycorhized and certified INRA.
By gathering all this knowledge, we are controlling the truffle culture (trufficulture).
We are planting 450 oak trees of at least one year old on each hectare (2471 acres). The first harvestings are possible as early as the fifth year. A truffle-field well kept can produce for 25 years long.
A mature truffle-field of one hectare planted with 450 oak trees can produce up to 90 kg.

Being the owner of oak trees ( numbered and referenced on each piece of land), you will be interested in half of the production of the truffle-field in proportion to the number of oak trees owned, the other half being used for the upkeep of the truffle-field.

Exemple :

Mr Morin is the owner of 20 oak trees on “ Les Sacristains” ( name of the piece of land).
The area of “Les Sacristains” is 6 hectares, namely 2700 oak trees.
The production that year, is 53 kg for one hectare, that is to say 318 kg for the piece of land.
That is to say, for one oak tree ( 318 x 1.000) / 2.700 = 118 grams for one oak tree.
Out of this production, half will be used for the upkeep of the truffle-field and the other half to Mr Morin.
Mr Morin will receive, then, 59 x 20 oak trees , that is to say 1 kg 180 of black truffles.

Mr Morin will be able to please his friends thanks to simple recipes.
At the present rate of the truffle ( 1000 euros for one kilo, professional price) Mr Morin received this year the equivalent of 1.180 euros of black truffles.
